I've started a new series of small work (4" in diameter) for the upcoming Teeny Tiny Art Show at Three Graces Gallery in Portsmouth, NH. The show goes up in September so I'll be working on these for the next few weeks. Each one will have a mini-quilt background and a bird with hand-sewn feathers and wire legs.
Meanwhile, "Out of the Wild" opened at Art Star over the weekend. Here is a photo of one corner of the gallery. I love how my birds are perched on shelves up in the tree.
Today we are picking up our new car - a Chevy Traverse. I'm sad to say good-bye to our perfectly good Subaru. We've had it for seven good years. It was a wedding present from my in-laws and has been with us since we were newlyweds living in a third floor walk-up condo in Brookline, until now with two kids and a third on the way and house in the suburbs.
The new car is really nice, though. It seats seven! And has a navigation system. I get lost nearly every day and instinctively turn the wrong way everywhere I go, so I'm so happy to have a car that can tell me where to turn.
